Between 16th and 30th October, Behind the Curtain Festival brings to Birmingham the best cinema from Central and Eastern Europe.

Centrala Gallery will be the hub of the fifth edition of the festival, launched by Polish Expats Association (PEA) in a partnership with major Art venues including Mac and Birmingham City Council. Richard James Short, co-Director of the Polish Expats Association, said:

“The goal of the festival is to bring the best of contemporary Eastern Europe to Birmingham to enjoy, whether a film buff or just someone interested in experiencing something new.”

The programme offers 14 films with its own outlook and viewpoint of Easter Europe. Also, the festival wants to be a platform for artists:

“As part of the festival, we are proud to present the experimental work of Antonisz at Centrala Gallery”, says Richard James Short.

Enjoying the delicious ‘pierogi’ or exploring the fellow galleries in Digbeth and Eastside are other options between film and film.
